How Soon Before an Event Should I Get Botox and Fillers?

Botox and fillers are excellent face enhancement injectables that improve your appearance and make you look your best for any occasion, whether it’s a wedding, a birthday party or a fund-raising. If you’re planning on getting any treatment, you would want to give yourself enough time and schedule your appointment at Palm Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Center in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. This will ensure all redness, bruising or swelling have faded, and for the results to show up in time for the event. This guide will help you time your injectable appointments just right.

Injectable Treatments to Consider Having Before an Event

At Palm Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Center, we offer a wide range of injectables for pre-event treatments to enhance your appearance before any event. Below are some of the options you can have.

Botox

Botox is a botulinum toxin treatment that smooths wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscles that are causing the wrinkles. This treatment is ideal for crow’s feet, brow lift, lines between the brows (glabellar lines), forehead wrinkles, top lip lines and more.

Time Needed Before an Event: Plan for at least 2 weeks prior to your event for any redness to fade. Results typically appear a few days after treatment and last 4-6 months, depending on the site treated.

Belotero

Belotero is one of the lightest dermal fillers available. It used to fill in moderate to severe nasolabial folds (the folds or wrinkles that appear on both sides of the nose to the corner of the mouth) and used to reducing fine lines around the lips and minor marionette lines, the lines that appear from the corners of your mouth down toward your jawline)

Time Needed Before an Event: Plan on getting this treatment at least 2 weeks before your event. Bruising and swelling can happen for 5 days up to 2 weeks after treatment. Results may last up to 6 months or more.

Juvederm

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler that can be used to fill in wrinkles, plump up the lips and restore lost facial volume. Results are smooth and natural looking.

Time Needed Before an Event: Juvederm results appear instantly, but you’ll want to get treatment at least 2-3 weeks before a big event. Some redness, swelling, and tenderness may occur in the first 7 days after treatment. Results typically last at least one year.

Juvederm Voluma

Juvederm Voluma is a unique filler that is injected deep into the cheek to restore volume, lift sagging skin, and re-establish facial contours.

Time Needed Before an Event:Juvederm Voluma results are long lasting and many patients still see improvement 2 years after treatment. You’ll want to give yourself plenty of time before a big event. Although no downtime is required, some patients have bruising, redness, or swelling for 2-4 weeks after treatment. Plan to receive Voluma injections at least a month or two before your event.

Kybella

Kybella is a deoxycholic acid injected into the fat pad under the chin to decrease the appearance of fat that hangs below the chin, often referred to as double-chin. Recovery after Kybella treatment is much quicker and easier than liposuction.

Time Needed Before an Event: Kybella results becomes apparent after a few months, so you will want to get treatment at least 1-3 months before an event. Swelling and numbness may occur within 1-2 months after injection. Results continues to improve over 3-5 months.

Radiesse

Radiesse is an excellent choice for restoring lost volume due to aging. Its unique formulation provides structure to the skin and stimulates the body’s own collagen production.

Time Needed Before an Event: Some of the results of Radiesse appear right after treatment, but you won’t see the full effect for several months. This filler is a great choice if you have a big event coming up that is still several months away. Results typically last 9-14 months after treatment. You should see the full results 3-4 months after treatment. Wait at least 3-4 weeks after treatment before a big event. While you might have the full results, Radiesse does start to work instantly and you’ll still look great.

Restylane

Like Juvederm, Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler. It features a larger particle size and lifts lax skin. It is better suited to filling in larger hollow areas like the cheeks, temples, circles under the eyes or deep wrinkles on the forehead, as well as increasing lip volume.

Time Needed Before an Event: Restylane can cause redness, swelling, and tenderness in the first days after treatment, which typically fades within 7 days for facial injections and within 18 days for lip injections. Schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks before an event for facial injections and 3 weeks before for lip injections. Results last 6-12 months.

Sculptra

Scuptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator. It is used to correct shallow to deep wrinkles and folds on the face, such as chrin wrinkles, the folds between the nose and mouth, also referred to as smile lines, and the lines framing the mouth (marionette lines).

Results appear gradually over the treatment regime, typically three injections over the course of 3-4 months and can last up to two years.
